Paulo Pirozelli Almeida Silva

    • Doutor em Filosofia pela Universidade de São Paulo. Mestre (2013) e bacharel (2010) em Filosofia pela mesma Universidade. Fui pesquisador visitante na Universidade Columbia (2016) e no Institute for Quantitative Social Science, na Universidade Harvard (2018). Realizei estágio de pós-doutorado em Filosofia pela Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina (2018-2020). Atualmente, sou pesquisador do Center for Artificial Intelligence (C4AI), mantido por uma parceria entre IBM-Fapesp-USP, e pós-doutorando pelo Instituto de Estudos Avançados da Universidade de São Paulo. O projeto em que trabalho é voltado ao estudo de sistema conversacionais complexo, que integrem aprendizado de máquina baseado em dados e raciocínio baseado em conhecimento. Fui também contemplado com uma bolsa de pós-doutorado da Fapesp para o biênio 2023-25. Tive trabalhos publicados em importantes periódicos de filosofia (Philosophy Technology, Manuscrito, Principia, Kriterion) e conferências de IA (CIKM, IJCAI, NeuriPIS). Minhas principais áreas de pesquisa são: Filosofia, com ênfase em filosofia da ciência, filosofia da linguagem e lógica; Inteligência artificial, com ênfase em processamento de linguagem natural.       Descrição: O objetivo concreto deste projeto é desenvolver uma estrutura para agentes conversacionais que possam responder a consultas de alto nível ao longo do tempo em um domínio particular, incluindo questões, argumentos, causas, explicações, inferências e planos sobre tarefas específicas. Estamos construindo um especialista em conversação sobre a Amazônia Azul para testar esta tecnologia; esperamos desenvolver ferramentas gerais que não sejam excessivamente vinculadas a um domínio particular, de modo que possam ser especializadas para qualquer domínio de interesse. Um objetivo mais amplo é investigar como esses agentes conversacionais podem se beneficiar simultaneamente de técnicas baseadas em dados e em conhecimento. O BLue Amazônia Brain (BLAB) pretende incorporar toda a informação existente sobre a Amazônia Azul, tanto capturando conhecimento técnico na forma de regras e fatos quanto processando fontes de dados disponíveis a partir de sensores e de informações textuais, incluindo artigos científicos e informações de jornais.
